Istofan Born in Hungary in 1951, Oroz completed his studies at the School of Applied Arts in Budapest in 1975 and worked as a theatre stage designer, sometimes as an actor, before becoming interested in drawing cartoons.
When drawing posters became the center of his interest, he mainly painted posters for plays and movies. During the rapid political changes in Eastern Europe, he also painted political posters. He is one of the founders of the D.O.P.P. Art Society, a film director at the Pannonia Film Studio, and a visiting teacher at the School of Applied Arts in Budapest. His cinematography is excellent, a masterpiece of the combination of painting theory and film technique.
