Do you still remember the lunar eclipse on the day of Winter Solstice last year (2010)? It was the first Winter Solstice lunar eclipse since 1638, a spectacle occurring once every 300 years. Photographer Steve Kelley used HDR techniques to make the lunar eclipse and Jersey City's skyline appear as if in a dream! He shot from New York towards Jersey City, using a Nikon D300 with a Nikkor 50mm 1.8 lens to capture the lunar eclipse, and a Tokina 11mm – 16mm 2.8 lens for the skyline. The lunar eclipse was exposed three times, while the skyline was exposed up to nine times! Here, in addition to the lunar eclipse, there is also a collection of his series of HDR urban landscape photographs.
