The iPhone domain name has been stolen -iPhone.com

Visit iPhone.com and you'll see all kinds of ads for music phones -- but no Apple iphones.

According to the Associated Press, the domain name was registered long before Apple launched the iPhone on January 9. Since the day Apple launched the iPhone, speculators have registered thousands of IPhone-related Internet addresses.

Registering the name of another company's product is not in itself illegal, but if the intention is bad, such as for resale purposes or to illegally profit from it, you can seek arbitration.

The iPhone.com domain has been around since at least 1995, and the current owner maintains the domain name with a proxy domain registrar. The owner is anonymous and the contact number appears to be not listed in the phone book. Apple spokesman Steve Dowling did not respond to calls and emails seeking comment.
