Google is building data centers in several states in the United States, but the data center on the Columbia River in Dalles, Oregon, is the latest to open, and recently, Google invited journalists for the first time to visit the data center in the eyes of outsiders. According to sporadic data released by Google, it costs about $600 million to build a large data center and employs 100 to 200 people.

In early 2005, the city of Dales approved Google's $1.87 million purchase of 30 acres of land. For unknown reasons, Google has kept a low profile of the data center, and to this day, there is no sign outside the center. However, local residents can tell you where the data center is because it is so conspicuous.
