What would you do if you worked at Nikon and realized from your own perspective that many people are using non-Nikon equipment? You would probably try to tell the "ignorant" public that gear is the most critical factor.
The Japanese camera giant Nikon recently posted such a statement on its Facebook user group: "A photographer is almost equivalent to the equipment they use, and a good lens is crucial for taking good photos. Are all our Facebook fans using Nikkor lenses? Which lens do you like best for shooting which scenes?"

So far, a large number of fans think, "Well, there's something problematic about this statement." The more widely-supported view is: "The most critical factor isn't the lens, but the head behind the camera." Many Nikon fans have indicated that the staff member who posted this comment has caused Nikon to face an unprecedented PR crisis on Facebook.
Perhaps this experience will teach them some lessons...
