2008 Hurun Brand Ranking

On August 13, Hurun Research Institute released the "Hurun China Brand Ranking" for the third time in Shanghai. 50 Chinese brands made the list, 20 of which are private brands. Because we focus on China's private economy, we have additionally expanded the list to include 30 more private brands, thereby producing a sub-list of the "Brand Ranking", known as the "2008 Hurun Private Brand Ranking".

The total brand value of the 50 listed brands has increased by 31% compared to last year. The brand value of the 50th place is 3.8 billion yuan, raising the entry threshold by 1.1 billion yuan compared to last year. China Mobile, with a brand value of 380 billion yuan, has won the championship for two consecutive years; Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Construction Bank of China, Bank of China, and Agricultural Bank of China rank second to fifth respectively. Maotai, with a brand value of 4.4 billion yuan, has entered the top ten for the first time, ranking ninth. Newly listed brands include Anta, Ctrip, Luzhou Laojiao, etc. Hurun said: "This year is China's Olympic year, and I believe that Chinese enterprises' brand awareness has improved, and companies have begun to emphasize creating brand value." Hurun also stated that with the rapid development of urbanization, the era of brands will soon arrive.
