Email Prioritizer is a new Office Outlook 2007 add-in that can evaluate incoming emails and determine their priority.
This tool is a plugin specifically designed for Office Outlook 2007 by Microsoft Office Labs. It runs on Exchange Server and represents an attempt to manage email overload.
A member of Office Labs revealed: "We believe that email overload is a huge challenge: currently, many people receive an overwhelming amount of emails and don't have time to sort through them. These emails not only come in large quantities but sometimes arrive at the most inconvenient times. We have many good ideas to address these challenges and are currently testing some of them."
Email Prioritizer will bring many interesting features. Users can use it to filter out the most important emails from a large volume of ordinary emails in their inbox. It can also pause all email reception for a period of time, approximately four hours.
Microsoft has established a set of standards for Email Prioritizer to filter emails. Users can set their own priorities, modify or improve this filtering standard. At that point, Email Prioritizer will provide a ranking from 0 to 3 stars, allowing you to browse the most important emails first based on the ranking.
Email Prioritizer also has a "Do Not Disturb" option, allowing you to work without interruptions.
