Microsoft LABS launches Listas, a wiki-like service

Microsoft Live LABS has launched a new service called Listas that allows users to create and share various types of lists. The app can also be used to share notes, favorites, and other functional information, and, like wikis, these lists can be shared with the public for collective editing.

The service will be accompanied by a collaboration toolbar developed for IE that allows users to gather information from the Web and add it to listings, such as search results, all or part of a page, etc. Microsoft says users will also be able to subscribe to other people's lists via RSS.

"We encourage users to try using it for meeting notes, bookmarks, shopping lists, or any other innovative way they can think of," the Live LABS team said in a blog post.
