Cicely Mary Barker(28 June 1895-16 February 1973) was an English painter, born in Croydon, near London. As a child, she could not go to school due to poor health, so she had to receive all her education at home, and spent most of her time reading and painting. In 1908, when Cicely was 13 years old, Cicely's father joined the Croydon Art Society, and she studied art professionally. At the age of 16, Cicely became the youngest member of the Croydon Art Society because of her outstanding painting.
