Carl Larsson (28 May 1853-22 January 1919) was a Swedish painter and interior designer, best known for his watercolours. After graduating from art school, he illustrated books and newspapers for a living. After marriage, there was a turning point in his painting style. In this period, he used a large number of transparent watercolors, and the use of colors was very different from the oil paintings of the past. During this period, Larsen also produced several watercolor illustrations, which may be some of the earliest watercolor illustrations in Sweden. The people and landscapes in his paintings, filled with a warm, leisurely atmosphere of life, were loved by viewers around the world, and were printed in various prints and even on porcelain.
