Richard Brooks, the editor of The Sunday Times, received an anonymous tip from the social networking site Twitter which claimed that the author of The Cuckoo's Calling (the pen name used was Robert Galbraith) was actually a very famous novelist.

After a thorough investigation, The Sunday Times believed that J.K. Rowling was indeed the true author of The Cuckoo's Calling. The Sunday Times sent an email to J.K. Rowling for confirmation, and J.K. Rowling admitted that The Cuckoo's Calling was indeed written by her.

She said: "I had hoped the secret would have kept for a little longer, because being Robert Galbraith has been such a liberating experience. It was a fantastic experience writing without hype or expectation, and the pure pleasure of the reviews given under a pseudonym."

After J.K. Rowling's new book The Cuckoo's Calling was exposed by foreign media, it quickly became the best-selling title on Amazon Kindle in less than a day.
