In the long period of time, glaciers and natural climate have experienced cycles of decline and rise. Today, the world's glaciers are melting, a process accelerated by global warming. In Montana's National Glacier Preserve, 150 named glaciers were recorded in 1850; today, that number has dwindled to 25. If current trends continue, the 25 glaciers in the Montana National Glacier Reserve will no longer exist by 2030.
Here we've collected 13 stunning photos of some of the world's most beautiful glaciers, taken by astronauts and satellites.
