Costumed monkeys on the streets of Jakarta, Indonesia

In Jakarta, Indonesia, some trained macaques wear human masks for street performance. Poverty prompts some Indonesians to have ideas on how to make monkeys earn money. They train the monkeys to mimic human activities such as shopping and riding a bicycle, so as to make a living by their street performances. However, behind these "street actors" are cruel training facts, and these animals have increasingly drawn attentions from charitable organizations such as the Jakarta Animal Aid Network.
