LG has launched the Voyager, a touch-screen phone inevitably dubbed the iphone killer.
The Voyager outperforms the iphone with faster wireless Internet access. Compared to the Apple, the Voyager has a larger screen, a full web browser, and a two-megapixel camera.
Verizon, the network operator, has the exclusive right to carry the phone and expects customers to drop the iphone, which lacks a traditional keyboard - the Voyager opens the cover to reveal a computer keyboard and a second screen.
"We think it's going to be the best phone of the year," Mike Lanman, Verizon's head of marketing, said in a press release.
Recent analyst reviewer Avi Greengart thinks Voyager will appeal to existing Verizon customers who don't want to switch providers. But he was skeptical that Voyager would shake iphone sales.
"Customers who want a premium phone and want to keep up with Verizon will give Voyager enough attention, but I don't think it will drive any iphone users away from their iphones." Avi Greengart comments.
The Voyager may not be realized while it is still on sale or how much its price can reach.
