The evolution of the Photoshop toolbar over the course of more than two decades, from 1987 to the present, is fully illustrated in the figure below, where Photoshop has become a common phrase and even a verb (help photoshop this image).
Although CS4 has been developed, there are still a number of designers who are still using the 4.0 version of it, and they find it easier to use the 4.0 version.
Even now, Photoshop is far from being a common tool for the average person. Therefore, in the future, more powerful and easier to use is still its eternal goal:
