IBM researchers announced this week that they have made significant progress in the storage of nanotechnology research.
The almaden Research Center in SAN Jose, California, reports that scientific magnetic anisotropy could eventually be used to store information in individual atoms that can store up to 150 megabits of data, a 1,000-fold increase in density per square inch compared to current data storage.
