According to China Tech News, Liu Jun, Senior Vice President of Lenovo Group, said that Lenovo would release a Windows Phone 8 smartphone this fall. As the fourth largest mobile device manufacturer in China currently, Lenovo plans to increase its mobile phone sales to 18 million units this year and add 40 new models, with most of these models running on the Android system.
In recent years, Chinese-made phones have achieved rapid growth in the Indian and Russian markets. In Russia, they have become the third-largest PC manufacturer. Currently, Lenovo is already in discussions with dealers in Germany and Japan to sell Lenovo smartphones.
Previously, there were rumors that Lenovo was developing a Windows Phone 8 smartphone, and images of a prototype of a Lenovo Windows Phone 7 device had also been leaked.
The confirmation by Lenovo's Senior Vice President indicates that Lenovo still sees potential in the Windows Phone system and has set its sights on the next generation of the Windows Phone operating system, Windows Phone 8.
