According to the official introduction, "Starcraft: Universe" can turn the game of "Starcraft II" into a MMORPG online game. The entire game plot is set 11 years after the story of "Wings of Liberty", and it includes single-player storyline and multiplayer mode. It also has complete equipment, vehicles, achievements, and social systems, and uses a lot of original music. However, players must own the original version of "Starcraft II". Currently, this Mod has passed Blizzard's certification and is allowed to release subsequent game content through Battle.net.
Upheaval Arts stated that in the early stages of its release, "Starcraft: Universe" will only have two factions: the Terrans and the Protoss. As for the Zerg from the original game, they will be updated later in the form of DLC on Battle.net.
According to the plan, if the fundraising goes smoothly, then the core and balance system testing of "Starcraft: Universe" will take place at the end of this year or next year. All the content during the initial public beta test will be provided free of charge to players, while future updates released by the production team may consider appropriate charges to sustain operations.
