Competition for online music is heating up. Search engine Google will launch a new music search service next week, and social networking sites MySpace and Facebook are also making early moves to add online music videos and online song services, respectively. Google will launch a new music search page next Wednesday, allowing users to search for photos of their favorite stars, bands, and albums in one go, with links to news, lyrics, music videos, new song demos, and online purchase of songs. The new service also gives record labels an alternative to Apple's iTunes to promote new music. It is reported that the idea is a number of major record companies to Google proposed, after a year of preparation, will be available next week.
