A year after the release of the Nexus 7, Google is expected to announce the next generation Nexus 7 at an event on July 24th; it has already sent out invitations to some media outlets. Before its official unveiling, Android Central leaked photos of the new 7-inch tablet. The photos show a fully black tablet with Asus and Google logo markings, power and volume buttons, and a micro USB port located in the same places as the original version, with no support for SD card expansion.

According to currently available information, the new tablet will feature a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2GB of RAM, a 1080p resolution display, a front-facing 1.2-megapixel camera, and a rear-facing 5-megapixel camera.

Google's internal memo states that the new version of the Nexus 7 will be available on July 20th, with the 16GB model priced at $229.99 and the 32GB model at $269.99, which is $30 more expensive than the old version of the Nexus 7. The operating system may be the rumored Android 4.3.
