Recently, more and more reviews of the N8 equipped with Symbian^3, many reviews are made without further use and experience, in the spirit of not investigating without having a say, after I had the privilege of playing N8-00 for a few days to write a little of their own experience, but also to give everyone a little confidence.
It should be noted that the Symbian^3 installed on this previous machine is not yet the commercial version that will be available when it is finally released, so there may be further changes to the features and functions seen today. I actually caught up on the last upgrade while I was using it, and I did notice some different things after the upgrade. So don't take this article as the final product.
General view
First, a general feeling. Symbian^3 is a completely new system that still has traces of Symbian^1 in some places, rather than a new bottle of old wine that has been patched to the old system. I'm glad of that. If the S60 v5 adds a touch layer (user interface) to Symbian^1, then Symbian^3 should be said to have made a lot of special design for touch operations from the bottom up. The most obvious detail is that many operations on the S60 v5 require clicking on the left button "Options" at the bottom of the screen, and then operating in a series of menu structures, which itself has a strong ITU keyboard operation characteristics.
One of the key points of touch-oriented Symbian^3 operations is that where the finger is (where the object is), the menu is where it is (or can you call it a follow menu?). Reduce the distance the finger moves, and make decisions about execution or pop-up menus by the length of time the finger touches the object. From this perspective, the improvement of Symbian^3 is the most obvious, and those who are familiar with iPhone and Android can compare it.
