Tencent Technology news (Louchi) September 14 news, ARM and Guangdong Newshore Company today released the world's first computer system chip NuSmart 2816 in Beijing, the system chip using TSMC 40 nm technology manufacturing. The chip integrates the dual-core ARM CortexA9 CPU, graphics card and other functions, the performance is higher than Intel and Apple chip of the same level, at present, the new Shore line has started terminal research and development plan with Lenovo, HP, Dell and other manufacturers, the first application of the chip products will be available at the end of the year.
According to Shoreline, the NuSmart 2816 system chip not only performs better than the Intel Core E4300, but consumes only 1/32 of the E4300 and costs less than half of the Core E4300. In addition, according to data provided by New Shoreline, the chip performance and power consumption are also higher than Nvidia and Apple's processor products that also use ARM architecture.
According to the new Shoreline company, the company has cooperated with Lenovo, HP, Dell, TCL, Haier and other manufacturers; Compal, Foxconn, ZTE, Chuangzhi and other OEM manufacturers; And Vodafone, Unicom and other operators began terminal research and development plans. And with Microsoft, Google, Ubuntu, Thundersoft and other software manufacturers began to develop the system chip.
New Shoreline general manager Zhou Wen said that from December 2010, products based on NuSmart computer system chips will be launched one after another. These include laptops that can be used continuously for 20 hours, new netbooks that can be used on standby like mobile phones without shutting down, ultra-thin laptops or desktops that do not need fans, and ultra-low-cost all-in-one desktops in the 1500 price range.
According to the company, the computer system chip is a new concept, that is, the CPU, south bridge, north bridge, video card, video decoding, hard disk controller and other functions are integrated on a chip, NuSmart 2816 chip power consumption is less than 2W, the system power consumption is less than 6W. It is not only suitable for new netbooks, tablets, smart TVS and other new products, but also to meet the needs of traditional mainstream computer products such as desktops and notebooks.
ARM is the world's largest supplier of intellectual property for core chip technology. About a quarter of the world's electronics today are based on ARM technology, and the A4 processor used in Apple's iPad is also licensed by ARM.
