Microsoft Live Search or renamed Kumo

According to foreign media reports, in order to strengthen the search business, Microsoft is likely to change the name of the current Live search to Kumo, which means that Microsoft's acquisition of Yahoo or its search business is increasingly unlikely.

According to LiveSide.Net, Microsoft has acquired the Kumo.com domain name and is conducting tests internally, redirecting some servers to the address. A few months ago, it was revealed that Microsoft was not happy with the Live Search brand and had three new candidates in mind: Bing, Hook, and Kumo.

Now it seems that Kumo is poised to become the new brand of Microsoft Search. Of course, there is no certainty that Live Search will be renamed Kumo, but we can draw one conclusion from this: Microsoft is becoming less and less likely to buy Yahoo, and changing the search brand means that Microsoft has decided to grow the search business on its own.

In Japanese, Kumo means "cloud" and "spider."
