Microsoft will officially launch Windows 7 this holiday shopping season

Microsoft said on Monday that it would officially launch Windows 7 sometime during this year's holiday shopping season, which begins on Thanksgiving, the last Thursday in November. Last week, the company released an almost final version of Windows 7, version RC, signaling that the system will be available earlier than planned in January 2010.
