HTC has finally released the source code for Hero Android on its official development site. Previously, in response to questions about the phone's development, HTC had said it was waiting for its own developers to provide the source code before releasing it publicly. But the Android kernel is licensed under the GPL (General Public License), and HTC has used various excuses to delay the release date, which has caused dissatisfaction and controversy from developers.
