Tencent is mad! Users must choose between 360 and QQ.

The following is an open letter to QQ users from Tencent's official website (http://im.qq.com/qq.shtml):

Dear QQ Users,

As you read this letter, we have just made a very difficult decision. Until 360 stops its invasion of QQ with plug-ins and malicious defamation, **we have decided to stop running QQ software on computers that have 360 software installed**. We are fully aware that this will cause you some inconvenience, for which we sincerely apologize. Below, we explain the reasons behind this decision, hoping for your understanding and support.

1. Safeguarding Your QQ Account Security

Recently, 360 has forcibly promoted and coerced users into installing the illegal plug-in "QQ Guard". This software has hijacked QQ's security module, resulting in the loss of related functions. In the operating environment of 360 software, we cannot guarantee the security of your QQ account.

2. Saying No to Actions Without Moral Boundaries

360 has repeatedly fabricated rumors that "QQ invades user privacy" and maliciously defamed QQ's security features. In fact, QQ's security module absolutely does not scan or monitor any private user data, nor does it upload user data. Currently, we have handed over the code of QQ's security module to a third-party organization for testing to prove our innocence.

Worse still, as an internet security company, 360 has launched plug-in software, openly standing on the opposite side of "security", and hijacking and controlling other companies' software. All these actions lack moral boundaries.

3. Resisting Illegal Acts

Any commercial behavior, regardless of its purpose, should be carried out within the framework of national laws and regulations. However, 360 has adopted illegal means such as "plug-ins" to disrupt Tencent's normal operations.

360 has already initiated interception and destruction of QQ on users' desktops. We could have chosen technical countermeasures, but after careful consideration, we decided not to let your computer desktop become a "battlefield," and instead leave the choice of software to you.

For twelve years, QQ has been fortunate to accompany you in your growth; in the days to come, we look forward to continuing this journey with you!
