In today's increasingly popular online music service platforms, with just a few simple steps, consumers can instantly download Populus-certified music to their MP3 players. While we cannot yet confirm whether such services are similar in nature to the digital music service Amazon is preparing to launch, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal, Amazon has been in discussions with four major international record companies to create an online digital music service platform distinct from its competitor, the iTunes online music store. Besides planning to launch its own brand of portable music players, Amazon also intends to attract customers with discounts on trial listening and bundled downloads.
