NASA's Earth Observatory online library has released a collection of stunning images of the planet taken during 2008, ranging from a spectacular line of clouds over the Caspian Sea in January to a "great alopecia areata" caused by deforestation in Bolivia in December. This collection of images is just a few of the hundreds in the Earth Observatory's online library.
