Patching after reinstalling Windows XP can be a hassle. There are almost 200 patches since SP2, so maybe you should consider finding a collection of all the patches since SP2. Old fat was recently annoyed by the virus, think about their own English version XP 2600 VLK SP2 without patches streaking, it is a little weak, so found a tool to integrate the latest patch to the installation CD:
