jQuery is riding high

Five years ago, no one had heard of jQuery, when it was just a brainchild of JavaScript guru John Resig. Today, jQuery is the most successful JavaScript library in the world, with 28% of websites on the Internet using jQuery. jQuery is the most open source tool, Web developers love it, big companies have embraced it, it has almost become the standard for Web development and design, and even got Microsoft support.
