The theoretical data transfer speed with the adoption of USB 3.0 can reach up to 5 Gbit/s, which is ten times faster than the current USB 2.0 port (480 Mbit/s). This means that you could complete the copying of a high-definition movie in just 30 seconds.

In the video, Microsoft demonstrated the copying of a 2GB video file and a 1GB photo, which Windows 8 could accomplish in mere seconds. Microsoft humorously remarked, "Don't blink while backing up your files, as the task will be over in an instant." At the end of the video, Microsoft also compared the differences between USB 3.0 and USB 2.0.
