Lee Jeffries, the photographer from Manchester, UK, began his career in sports photography. An encounter one day with a homeless little girl on the streets of London completely changed his creative direction and artistic approach. He recalled, "I stole a photo!" — it was taken secretly of a homeless girl curled up in a sleeping bag. He knew the girl had noticed him, but his first reaction was to leave. He said something compelled him to talk to the girl, which completely transformed his perception of street people.
