NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter has sent back stunning new images of Victoria Crater on Mars. The image, taken by the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter's High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment Camera (HiRISE), was taken at a more oblique Angle than previous images of Victoria Crater. Victoria Crater is located on Mars' Meridiani Planum, and the camera's Angle is 22 degrees East of straight down, which is like looking out of an airplane window. The terrain is highest on the east side of the photo. The most interesting geological formation exposed is the steep rock face of Victoria Crater, which is difficult to see when looking directly down from overhead.
