Bulgarian female photographer Albena Markova was born in 1962 in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, and holds a master's degree in electronic engineering. In 2006, she studied photography under Angel Nenov, one of the finest photographers in Varna. The karst topography of the Rhodope Mountains region in Bulgaria features extensive lakes, where mist rising from the water and thick cloud layers formed under special climatic conditions have contributed to the rich and weighty compositions captured in her photographs.
