The latest installment in SNK's classic fighting game series, "The King of Fighters XIII" (KOF13), first hit arcade platforms in 2011. Shortly thereafter, rumors began circulating that the game would be released on PC, much like "Street Fighter IV."

In June this year, a foreign media outlet reported that within Valve's Steam platform, which is a digital distribution platform for PC games, there was evidence of what appeared to be test data for a PC version of "The King of Fighters XIII." Now, the latest news strongly suggests that the release of "The King of Fighters XIII" on PC is all but certain.

Today, Steam has released the opening animation for "The King of Fighters XIII" for the first time. From the file title and video content, we can see that the upcoming PC version will be called "The King of Fighters XIII Steam Edition" (KOF13 SE). This version may include multiplayer online combat features and other online functions based on the Steam platform.

Currently, apart from this opening animation, neither Steam nor SNK have disclosed any further details about the PC version of "The King of Fighters XIII." However, given this information, it appears that the official release of this classic fighting game is not far off.
