NORAD's Santa tracking is a very interesting tradition, and in 2004, after Google acquired Keyhole, Google began using the Keyhole Earth Viewer (the predecessor of Google Earth) to track Santa Claus, and named it "Santa Radar." At first, there were not many users, only one server, and as a result, 25,000 people used the service on Christmas Eve, almost burning the server.
