Google is working with Plaxo to improve OpenID

As a concept, OpenID showed great potential, but this potential was hampered by the fact that OpenID required users to jump from the current login site, and when Facebook Connect entered the competition, OpenID's usability issues were highlighted. In light of this, Google worked with Plaxo to design a new OpenID login workflow to simplify operations, and they also added OAuth and the Google Contact API to OpenID.
